Sistah Scifi amplifies Black and Indigenous speculative fiction and expands access to imaginative stories by historically underrepresented creators. We welcome submissions from authors, illustrators, publishers, publicists, and literary representatives who believe their work is aligned with our mission and readers.

Books may be considered for the Sistah Scifi online store, Sistah Scifi book vending machines, pop-up events, signed inventory, book clubs, reviews, author conversations, and Sistah Scifi Wine Down Wednesday programming.

What We Are Looking For

• Science fiction, fantasy, horror, Afrofuturism, Indigenous Futurism, magical realism, superhero stories, speculative comics and graphic novels, and other imaginative genres.
• Books centering Black, Indigenous, and other historically underrepresented voices.
• Children’s, middle grade, young adult, and adult titles that will resonate with Sistah Scifi readers.
• Professionally produced books with clear retail, distribution, and wholesale information.

Who May Submit

Authors, illustrators, editors, publishers, publicists, agents, and authorized representatives may submit. We accept traditionally published, independent press, hybrid, and self-published titles. Self-published submissions should include clear wholesale pricing, ordering instructions, and fulfillment timelines.

Please Have the Following Ready

• Book title, description, genre, audience, publication date, formats, ISBNs, and retail pricing.
• A public book page, cover image, media kit, or review copy link.
• Publisher, distributor, wholesale discount, returnability, and ordering information.
• A brief explanation of how the book aligns with Sistah Scifi’s mission and community.
• Any interest in signed stock, events, book clubs, reviews, or a Sistah Scif Wine Down Wednesday.

How the Review Process Works

1. Submit the form with complete and accessible information.
2. Our team conducts an initial mission and operational fit screening.
3. Selected titles may receive a fuller review, including review-copy evaluation and wholesale terms.
4. We will contact you if we need additional information or would like to move forward.

Complete submissions are generally reviewed within 3–4 weeks. Because of the volume of requests, we may not be able to respond individually to every submission.

• Sistah Scifi may consider a title for programming even when immediate inventory placement is not available.

Do you accept self-published books?
Yes. Please provide professional cover and interior materials, reliable fulfillment, wholesale pricing, and clear ordering terms.

Do I need to send a physical copy?
No. Begin with the form and a digital review copy or public sample link. We will request a physical copy if needed.

Can I submit more than one book?
Yes. Please submit a separate form for each title unless the books are part of the same series and have the same ordering information.

Can I request an event or a Sistah Scifi Wine Down Wednesday appearance?
Yes. Select the relevant programming options in the form. Programming consideration is separate from inventory placement.

When should I follow up?
Please allow at least four weeks after submitting a complete form. If you follow up, reply with the title, author name, and submission date.
